A special award was also presented to our speaker Rodney Lockwood. He received the first ever “It’s About Liberty I” Award which is to be given to a person who has worked “In Defense for the Moral Superiority of Laissez Faire Capitalism.”

2014 Liberty Fest
It’s that time of year again in Michigan and this year’s LPM LibertyFest is being hosted by the Libertarian Party of Wayne County (LPWC) Saturday, November 8th, 2014, and we’re looking to grant the three Libby Awards at the event to three very deserving Libertarians.
- Spokesperson for Liberty Award : To a member of the community whose patriotism and conviction have inspired contributions to the cause of liberty.
- Promoter of Liberty Award : To a libertarian whose efforts have done the most to promote the LP and Libertarian principles
- Producer of Liberty Award : To a dedicated, behind-the-scenes Libertarian whose quiet labors over the years exemplifies the backbone of the LP.
If you’d like to nominate someone for one of these awards please let us know before Oct 18th at waynecolibertarian@lycos.com

Defender of Liberty Awards
Defender of Liberty Awards (“Libbies”) have been presented at our annual LibertyFest Banquet to a maximum of six select individuals, Libertarian or otherwise, who have made notable personal efforts in the defense of liberty. Awards are normally presented to Michigan residents.
Three categories have been established:
- Spokesperson for Liberty – a member of the community whose patriotism and conviction have inspired contributions to the cause of Liberty
- Promoter of Liberty – A Libertarian whose efforts have done the most to promote the LP and Libertarian principles
- Producer of Liberty – a dedicated, behind-the-scenes Libertarian whose quiet labors over the years exemplifies the backbone of the LP.
Nominations were open until November 1, 2013.
