Defender of Liberty Awards ("Libbies") have been presented at our annual LibertyFest Banquet to individuals, Libertarian or otherwise, who have made notable personal efforts in the defense of liberty.

On the evening of Saturday, May 3, 1997 at the annual convention of the Libertarian Party of Michigan a celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the founding of the party in Michigan was held after the convention banquet.
