  2. Political Activists Needed — by Bill Hall

The LPM needs your help, as a volunteer! Recent volunteer tasks have included: writing new releases, newsletter articles and candidate recruitment letters, poll watching, literature distribution, yard sign placement, inventorying the Lansing office, and convention planning. Tasks anticipated for the near future include: recruiting candidates via telephone, mail and email, helping plan events (e.g., a candidate training day and Presidential "straw poll" in March), preparing template content for candidate websites and brochures, and organizing our delegation to the Libertarian National Convention in May. To volunteer, please contact Bill Hall, chair@michiganlp.org, telephone 616-460-9516.

  3. Stand Up and Be Counted for the LP National Convention

We need your help! Have you joined the national Libertarian Party as a sustaining member by contributing $25 to the national LP in the past 12 months? Perhaps you once were a sustaining member of the national LP, but let your membership lapse. If you aren't currently a sustaining member of the national LP, then please join or renew your national LP sustaining membership today! If you are renewing a current or lapsed membership, go to http://www.lp.org/members/renew.shtml If you are joining the national LP for the first time, go to http://www.lp.org/members/newmember.shtml

Your sustaining membership in the national Libertarian party is very important to the Libertarian Party of Michigan. The national LP counts its Michigan members as of December 31 of this year and awards delegates to next May's Libertarian Party Presidential Nominating Convention, based on how many national sustaining members reside in Michigan. The more national members we have, the more delegates we receive. If our membership falls in the top 10 states (we are currently hanging on to 10th place), then we also get to appoint a delegate to the national Platform Committee.

What do you get for a modest $25 contribution to the national LP, besides the satisfaction of supporting the Libertarian Party and its candidates, More Freedom and Less Government? You receive the national LP's monthly newspaper, LP News. And the LPM will recognize you as a member of the state party, sending you its bimonthly Michigan Libertarian newsletter. Please join or renew today! If you are renewing a current or lapsed membership, go to http://www.lp.org/members/renew.shtml If you are joining the national LP for the first time, go to http://www.lp.org/members/newmember.shtml
