  2. Michigan Libertarians Win 4 of 5 Races — by Bill Hall

In last Tuesday's elections, five Libertarians ran for City Council across the state. Mayor Pro Tem Mark Owen was re-elected to the Owosso City Council. Councilman Andy LeCureaux was re-elected to his fourth term on the Hazel Park City Council. Dave Nagy was defeated in his bid for a term on the Garden City Council. Mark Byrne won his first term on the Port Huron City Council in an election that saw 4 of 6 incumbent councilman turned out of office. David Eisenbacher returned to the Troy City Council in a landslide, winning almost 60% of the vote against three challengers, one of whom was endorsed by both local Republican and Democratic organizations. The win rate in Michigan was a lofty 80%, drawing congratulations from Libertarians all across the nation. Kudos to our hard-working Libertarian candidates and their activist supporters. Whether you won or lost, we thank you for carrying the Libertarian banner and providing voters the opportunity to vote for more freedom, less government.
