  2. Audience Agrees with Libertarian Candidate — by Leonard Schwartz

Audience Agrees with Libertarian US Senate Candidate:

Democrats and Republicans Can't Spend Your Money and Manage Your Life Better than You Can

Leonard Schwartz, Libertarian Party candidate for U S senator, polled the audience at a candidate forum. "If you think that Democrats can spend your money and manage your life better than you can, please raise your hand." Hardly anyone raised a hand. "If you think that Republicans can spend your money and manage your life better than you can, please raise your hand." Hardly anyone raised a hand.

"Libertarians aren't busybodies. We don't want to spend your money or manage your life," said Mr. Schwartz. "Government busybodies are much worse than private busybodies. Government busybodies can compel disclosure of your private information. Private busybodies cannot. Government busybodies can impose taxes, fines, and imprisonment. Private busybodies cannot."

"When you vote, you send a message. If you vote Libertarian, you send a clear message that you want government busybodies off your back. If you vote for Democrats or Republicans, you tell them that you want them spending your money and managing your life. What a waste of your vote!," he continued.

The candidate forum was held on Monday, September 19, at Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills, MI. It was sponsored by the Jewish Community Council and the National Council of Jewish Women, Greater Detroit Section. About 150 people attended.
