  4. Proposed By-laws Amendments for April LPM Convention by Will Tyler White

The by-laws committee requests that any affiliate with a proposed by-laws amendment please contact committee chair Will White at 517 349-3806, or whitewi5@msu.edu.

While anyone can propose an amendment from the floor of the convention, chances of passage are better if the exact wording is debated before hand and presented in the report from the by-laws committee. It also helps avoid lengthy debate on the floor of the convention.

Committee members will try and visit any local affiliate requesting a conference.

So far the major proposals are: two-year terms for Executive Committee members (with one-year vote of confidence), and changing the at-large directors to functional directors. Greg Dirasian presents details on the functional directors proposal in the upcoming Michigan Libertarian newsletter.

The by-laws committee may have a final meeting in Lansing on a Sunday in April to review the proposed amendments. Notice of the meeting will be posted in this online newsletter.
