- School District Elections
by Leonard Schwartz
Promote Libertarianism by Getting Elected to Your Board
of Education
Nonpartisan school district elections create a great
opportunity for Libertarians to get elected to public
office. Most school district elections will be on May 3.
To become a candidate you must file an "Affidavit of
Identity" with your county clerk. You must also either (a)
pay a $100 filing fee, which usually is refundable, or (b)
file petitions. Your county clerk can tell you how many
valid signatures must be on your petitions. The deadline for
filing candidate paperwork is Feb. 8.
