  2. LEC actions by Bill Gelineau

The LEC voted unanimously this week to extend our lease at the Hazel Park office for 2 additional months. This was done to provide sufficient transition time to set up the Lansing office and will possibly provide the LPM with additional opportunities in anticipation of utilizing a new field office in Oakland County. We expect the new year to begin with the opening of our political office in Lansing. Will White, the Chair of the LP of Mid-Michigan, has done alot of leg work help bring this about. We will need the assistance of many volunteers to make our presence felt. We want to maintain staff a couple of days each week starting Jan. 1 and also process on the weekend. If you are able to provide some help, please contact Bill Gelineau, 616-254-2878 or wgelineau@firstam.com

  3. City Council Elections on November 4 by Greg Dirasian

Elections are one week away. There are some important elections going on.

Mark Owen is up for re-election to the Owosso City Council. If you live close and can help, let Mark know by emailing him at: Mark@ElectMarkOwen.org

Andy LeCureaux is up for re-election to the Hazel Park City Council. You may have heard that there was a slanderous piece put out by an unidentified group. The group even attacked the credibility of the LP of Michigan by claiming that we were evicted from our Hazel Park office. If you can work a poll to help Andy's campaign, please email him at: andrew-7@webtv.com. Andy's campaign will also be holding their election night party at LPM HQ in Hazel Park.

Erin Stahl has an active city council campaign in St. Clair Shores that is receiving widespread support. Her strong showing in the primary bodes well. If you can help Erin's campaign by working a poll on election day, please email greg@ErinStahl.com.

We have great potential this election day. Please try to make the potential a reality by volunteering to work for the campaign of your choice.

  4. Sam Adams Dinner by James Hudler

The Libertarian Party of Washtenaw County cordially invites you to the Seventh Annual SAM ADAMS DINNER, held Saturday evening, November 15, 2003.

The evening’s entertainment is Libertarian fun and satire, featuring Chicago-based comic Tim Slagle, who appears regularly at comedy clubs in his home town and at college campuses nationwide and has presented his edgy libertarian political humor at Brass Roots meetings, for the Heartland Institute and at the national LP Convention.

Funds raised at the Sam Adams Dinner help support the University of Michigan College Libertarians, the nation’s oldest continuously active student libertarian group, and help provide Libertarian outreach at such events as Ann Arbor’s Art Fairs and Hash Bash and at the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival.

Cocktails (cash bar) at 5:30pm, buffet dinner at 6:30 pm, entertainment at 7:30 pm. Creekside Grill is conveniently located 5827 Jackson Road, Ann Arbor, half a mile south of I-94, just west of the Zeeb Road exit.

Tickets are $40 per person by advance sale, $50 at the door. Mail your check today to the LP of Washtenaw County, PO Box 447, Chelsea MI 48118. For Information call Larry Johnson (734-476-7817) or James Hudler, (734-475-9792).
