  3. Looking ahead: Common goals, collaborative work, Unity. by Diane Barnes

It is with renewed optimisim and enthusiasm that I approach this coming year as a member of the Libertarian Party. We have a choice, we can shout at each other or speak together. The burden is on all of us to look at the issues and find answers that will move our party in one single direction. I intend to do my best to serve you as a member of the LEC. I will stive to demonstrate my commitment to libertaian principles by considering & respecting all points of view, weighing all options and choosing what will be of greatest benefit to the party. I cannot do this alone. The LEC cannot do it alone. We need your input to meet the political challenges we face. I am delighted to serve on the LEC with everyone who was elected. I am eager to get to work -- and to work with all of you! Diane Barnes at-large member

  4. Newsletter Volunteers Needed by Greg Dirasian

During our state convention, I was delighted to see the large number of people who ran for at-large director of our executive committee. My congratulations to everybody who won.

To those of you who did not make it on to the executive committee this year, your desire to step forward and take on this responsibility is admirable. Even though you didn't win this time, you can still make important contributions to the LPM that will help improve your chance of winning next time. Volunteers are needed to help with the newsletter.

Specifically, I would like to find people who are willing to take on the task of doing a regular "Legislation Watch" column and people who will help with reporting on special news.

Fred Collins has been faithfully writing his "Future of the LPM" column for the last year. We need to find more people who are willing to make regular contributions to the newsletter. If you are one of these people, please send an email to: newsletter@michiganlp.org
