  4. Use of Emotion in Politics--Absolutely Essential! by Ghazey Aleck

Think about why you are a libertarian. Is is because it makes you feel bad? Is because you are detached and disinterested? Does it bore you to death?

I bet that being a libertarian makes you feel good. I bet that libertarianism engages you in a stimulating and interesting way. I bet that being a libertarian is exciting for you.

To be successful as a political force, all libertarian activities should evoke the same emotions in the rest of the public. You need to think about that in a number of ways. For example, I hear libertarians saying that wrapping yourself in the flag is a bad thing because that makes us no better than the two major parties. The real problem is that the two major parties have absolutely no business wrapping themselves in the flag at all. The true patriots, the true all American political party, is the Libertarian Party. No other political party comes close! Rejoice in that. Show you positive enthusiasm to the world in party activities and in your campaigns.

In otherwords, realize that when you get negative, you are turning control over to the statists. Don't let them do that to you. When you do, they win. They take you off your game.

Evoke the emotion in others that you have in yourself as a libertarian. Quit frothing at the mouth over the offense you take at the two major parties and their statist attitudes. Show people the way! This is leadership. This demonstrates a vision for America. Libertarians will win when we shirk off the anger and focus on the thrill it is to live free. Try saying "America will be great when we consistently stand for liberty here and abroad", instead of "America is losing its greatness because we have become an imperlist empire."

Wrap yourself up in the red, white and blue and stand proud. You have been created in the image of your forefathers who founded the greatest country that has ever emerged on the face of the earth. It is the libertarian philosophy and principle that got us here and it will be libertarianism that will build a bright, strong, happy and prosperous future for American children and generations to come. Show the world that no one else deserves to wrap themselves in old glory other than the Libertarian Party.

We have the vision, not them! Enjoy yourself and have fun for a change!
