  2. Kalamazoo Libertarian Party Chair resigns

On the Tuesday, September 4th meeting of the Kalamazoo Libertarian Party, Tim Miley announced his resignation from the chairmanship of the Kalamazoo Libertarian Party, citing time constraints caused by a return to full time school as well as full time work.

Mickey Hall, vice chair of the party, has agreed to take on the role of chairman.

Mickey Hall can be reached at (616)345-2455 or by email at mickhall09@aol.com.

  3. Building a Fighting Local Party by Ghazey Aleck

There are many ways to build a fighting Local Party affiliate. Try different things all the time but never get discouraged. Its not like you are going to go bankrupt if something fails, and be forced to go on welfare. Consider it a risk free adventure instead. I have had success in doing the following:

    1. Holding regular monthly meetings all year long.

    2. Putting out notices of meetings to the local newspapers and putting out a regular newsletter.

3.Holding regular fundraisers or an annual dinner.

    4. Looking for outreach projects by appearing in every parade and having a booth in community functions like the Fair, etc.

    5. Having members talk to people all the time to recruit members and candidates.

    6. Sending information to all interested persons.

    7. Organizing lit drops in neighborhoods.

    8. Get information to members regarding redistricting or about the borders of districts.

    9. Filing with the Secretary of State so that the local LP can give money to candidates or run slate advertising.

10.Lit drops and signs for the party during elections.

    11. Inviting speakers to meetings and publishizing it.

And the list goes on and on...the only thing that you should avoid is doing very little or nothing so go out and get them!
