  4. Hollemans campaign surges forward by Jason C. Miller

In a 4th of July Surprise (at least to those in the local government), the Hollemans for Trustee Campaign wowed those in attendence at Plainfield Township's parade. The Hollemans campaign, a team of 12 dedicated volunteers distributed over 400 pieces of literature and candy to the onlookers. The crowd seemed extremely receptive, even if the Township clerk attempted to explain to Derek that he wasn't on the ballot. After assuring her he was a Libertarian, and would be on the ballot in November, the Hollemans team shook hands and distributed literature, much to the disgust of the 6 Republicans running in the August primary, who had expected to cruise to an unopposed victory in November for the four open seats.

Since the parade, Derek has been busy making contact with media personalities, distinguished members of the township, and other general publicity efforts, including yard signs and literature.

Although the Republican Primary has yet to occur, The Hollemans For Trustee campaign is kicking into high gear, and will not stop until November. Derek Hollemans will face the four Republican Nominees for four available Trustee seats in November.

  6. Ann Arbor Art Fair Volunteers Needed by Steve Saletta

The LP of Washtenaw County is looking for people to volunteer to work our booth next Wed-Sun (July 19-23) at the Ann Arbor Art Fair. You know your wives are going to drag you to this thing anyway, so you might as well stand in the shade and talk politics instead of wandering around all day looking at $200 pieces of postmodern lawn art.

And for the ladies....medium sized capitalist swine shirts will be available!

Because the LPWC is on the bleeding edge of modern technology, you can sign up online at http://www.arrenkyle.com/lpwc/aa2000/booth.cgi

Nick Contaxes, art fair despot, can be reached at 668-8132

500,000 people will come to Ann Arbor next weekend, let's make a good showing.

    Thanks,
    -Steve
