  3. Gun Raffle Tickets Available by Ben Steele III

The Committee to Elect Trafton Jean ( http://www.traftonjean.com ) is selling Gun Raffle tickets from now until July 15th (drawing date).

The prize is a $300 certificate good toward the purchase of the firearm of your choice (or other merchandise) from James Bay Sporting Goods in Howell. The tickets are only $2 each or 3 for $5. James Bay has shotguns, rifles, handguns, and a variety of knives and collectable "cutlery." The winner must meet all applicable laws to purchase firearms. Also, the Republicrats and Democans have mandated that we must report the name and address of each contributor, even for a $2 raffle ticket.

If you are interested or know someone who might be, the tickets can be purchased by sending a check or M.O. payable to the Committee to Elect Trafton Jean to 201 N. Lansing Street, Owosso, Mich. 48867, or you can call 517-288-5616 or 517-723-1964 to arrange something. Tickets will also be available at all LPSC events and meetings and will be available at the Convention.

The drawing is not until July 15th, but we can't guarantee that we will still have tickets if you wait too long!

  4. LPWM protests in GR by Jason C. Miller

The Libertarian Party of West Michigan organized a multi-affiliate tax day protest in Grand Rapids on April 17. Libertarians from the surounding counties, and state LP officials like Stacy Van Oast and Diane Barnes, joined to protest the income tax.

Organizers estimate that 4000 pieces of "million dollar" literature were handed out by the almost 50 people that attended it.

The Libertarian Party of West Michigan received coverage at 6:00 and 11:00 from WZZM TV 13. WOOD radio reported on the story throughout the day and allowed new chair Joe Bomarito the opportunity to speak on their afternoon talk show. Local newspapers did interviews, but it is not certain when their articles will run or to what extent.

The one certain thing from this years protest is that next years will be even bigger.
